With an emphasis on just having fun, this community bush dance is open to all ages, encouraging families and friends to come along for a laugh.

Live music is provided by the Usual Suspects Bush Band. Every dance is first taught, and then called throughout after the music starts.

Dances are usually held on the 4th Saturday of each month, February to November.

• Admission is $10 per adult (no EFTPOS), and includes an afternoon tea.

Step into a world where fairies, elves and folkies come together in a celebration of music, dance and imagination. The Fantasy Ball is a joyful community dance event that invites everyone to leave the ordinary behind and embrace an evening of whimsy, wonder and connection.

With the lively sounds of the Crooked Compass Club providing the soundtrack and the bubbly Susie Bolliger calling the dances, you'll be guided through a series of easy, fun folk dances that are welcoming to complete beginners while still delighting experienced dancers. No partner or previous dance experience is needed—just bring your sense of adventure.

Whether you arrive as a woodland sprite, a wandering bard, a mischievous goblin, a noble elf, or simply as your wonderfully creative self, costumes are warmly encouraged but never required. Expect a hall filled with magical characters, lively tunes, laughter and the shared joy of dancing together.

Some helpful hints to fully enjoy the magical evening of dancing and laughter ahead:

• Feel free to dress as whimsically as you’d like. This is the event that you can wear that glittering vest or gown that has patiently been waiting to make it’s debut in the back of your wardrobe. Elf ears, flower crowns and thrifted dreams are encouraged! Just be sure to check you can hitch up any long dress-trains or cloaks.

• Make sure you wear comfy shoes so you can fully enjoy tearing it up on the dancefloor.

• If you’re someone who can be sensitive to loud noise, feel free to wear noise reduction earplugs so that you can fully enjoy the night.

• Tap water will be available to refill any water bottles that you bring.

• Free street parking is available around the Coorparoo School of Arts and Memorial Hall venue.

• If you’re looking for somewhere to have dinner beforehand, there are various restaurants in and around Coorparoo Square which is an easy 5 minute walk from the venue.

From Mediaeval dances on village greens, through to Regency balls, and on to modern Anglo-Celtic Folk Dances, join us for a fun filled night of dancing in Samford Village and Arana Hills.  We are starting a new dance series called The Village Dance, capturing the very essence of community dance!

All dances are taught, with an the emphasis on merriment and participation, rather than intricate steps.  Anyone can do it.

Relive tradition with acoustic music by our amazing local band Phillip's Dog, while meeting new people.

Our goal is to enrich our community through folk dancing.  We offer a welcoming atmosphere for everyone.  Join us for tea & cake after the dance.

Get ready for a toe-tapping night of good ol' fashion fun!

Dust off your dancing shoes, grab a bunch of mates and join us for a night of boot scootin' fun with live music by Beefa Bush Band.

Raising funds to get more young people into TRACTION programs.

Whether you're a seasoned dancer or blessed with two left feet, everyone is welcome! Beefa's Bush Band has a professional caller on hand to guide you through every step.

ABOUT THE DANCE

• Tickets are $20 per adult, $10 for children (5-15), under 5 are Free.

• Tickets should be pre-purchased, limited number available at the door.

• Doors open 6.30pm, event concludes 10.00pm.

• Includes a raffle and a prize for best dressed

• Fuel up on sizzled sausages or delicious pulled pork sliders and grab a drink from the fundraising bar. Then hit the dancefloor and make a night of it.

Sisters of the Saddle (SOTS) is a not-for-profit, run by female volunteers passionate about cycling and fundraising to deliver positive impact on the lives of young people.

Since its inception, SOTS has raised more than $1.4 million for our charity partners TRACTION for Young People and Zephyr Education. Helping young people reengage with their education through hands-on mentoring programs that build confidence, skills, and positive future pathways.
