You’ve most likely seen Irish Step Dancing, but may not have heard of Set Dancing.

Irish Set Dancing, is a form of partner dancing that is danced in a square set. It has ‘Top’ and ‘Side’ couples who often take turns dancing across from each other. There’s a few key movements, as in any dance style, that commonly re-occur in each set dance.

The dances are grouped into ‘Figures’ so you often will dance 3-5 Figures in one ‘Set Dance’.

It’s a lot of fun and a great way to get your fitness up! See more info. about Brisbane Irish Set Dancers below.

What is Irish Set Dancing?

The Brisbane Irish Set Dancers have been bringing Irish Set Dancing back to Brisbane’s South since mid 2024.

Each session we start off with basic stepping and recap some of the key movements that will be required for the Figures being taught. Then we throw it all together and have a roaring laugh along the way.
