Carina Contra Dance

Event description

This community contra dance is open to all ages and welcomes families and friends to come along for a fun afternoon of dancing. Every dance is first taught and then called throughout after the music starts.

Live music is provided by the The Contrarians.

Dances are usually held on the 2nd Saturday of most months, February to November.

ABOUT CARINA CONTRA DANCES

  • Admission is $10 per adult (no EFTPOS), and includes an afternoon tea.

  • Doors open from 1:30pm

  • VENUE - Carina Community Centre (corner of Sankey Street),  1 Edmond Street, Carina, QLD 4152. Entry at the rear of the building.

  • Free street parking available at the rear of the building.

  • Programme is mostly traditional Canadian/US Contra style, with most formations in long lines.

  • You don’t need to come with a partner, but wear comfortable low-heeled or flat shoes.
